Andrew Amicarelli has been playing guitar for over 18 years. He started playing classical guitar and was classically trained for 2 years where he focused on music theory, site reading, and song structure. Shortly after this initial formal classical training, Andrew became drawn to music that had a strong focus around the electric guitar and began spending hours a day honing his skill as a “rock guitar player.” His idols and influences include John Petrucci of Dream Theater, Joe Satriani, Steve Morse, Andy Timmons, Al Di Meola, and many others, and became the basis for his style. He recorded a full length album which hilights his talents as a technically proficient guitarist as well as his ability to compose songs. Andrew has been teaching guitar for over 12 years and believes learning the guitar should be enjoyable but also sees the benefit in learning and understanding the instrument in aspects that may bring a new dimension to one’s playing. Whether you want to learn to just strum the guitar and sing along to some songs you enjoy or want to delve deeper into technique development, songwriting, improvisation and much more, Andrew can help you along your journey in learning the guitar!
